At the heart of the Antioch and Contra Costa Community in California, we envision a transformative and inclusive STEM community event that celebrates diversity and champions the presence and achievements of people of color. This visionary gathering will serve as a beacon, illuminating the path towards a future where equity and representation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields are the norm.
Our vision for this momentous event is founded on the belief that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are the cornerstone of innovation and progress. By fostering a welcoming space that embraces the unique perspectives, talents, and contributions of people of color, we aim to cultivate an environment that nurtures creativity, ingenuity, and collaboration in STEM. In doing so, we hope to break down the barriers that have historically hindered individuals from underrepresented communities from fully engaging with STEM disciplines or being acknowledged for the accomplishments they have made.
Our Vision
Unlike many STEM events that may touch on diversity as an afterthought, this event centers entirely on celebrating and empowering people of color. It highlights their contributions, experiences, and challenges in STEM fields, creating a platform where their voices are amplified and their achievements celebrated. The event goes beyond just representation and tokenism. It features inclusive programming for kids and community that incorporates diverse perspectives, interactive activities, and workshops that cater to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This focus on inclusivity ensures that attendees from different walks of life can actively participate and benefit from the event.
